Something Blue | Wedding Day Details
Ok, we’ve all heard this little rhyme: “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue…”
I remember back to when I was getting married, trying to decide how I would incorporate these items into my wedding. My old was lace from my mother’s veil wrapped around the stems of my bridal bouquet. My new was my dress and my borrowed was a beautiful bracelet my best friend had worn on her wedding day the year before. But, my something blue…this one was a little trickier for me. In fact, as I sit here typing, I can’t even remember what my something blue was!
This beautiful “Something Blue” editorial was a fun challenge. As a wedding florist, I actually rarely use blue in my designs. There aren’t that many natural blue flowers, and it simply isn’t a request I get very often. I’m thrilled with how all the design, details, and floral turned out. Jamie Rae Photo did a beautiful job capturing it all the wedding inspiration.
I chose to combine ivories, whites, and greens with the blue tones. I now love blue delphinium, grape hyacinth, and iris!
I wanted to keep the rest of the table and decor neutral, so the blue would really pop.
I love the gold tones in the dress from Shop Gossamer. It really added some warmth to the shoot event with the cool, blue tones.
