Designing With Spring Blooms Workshop
A few weeks ago, I had a the pleasure of teaching and talking with 30 attendees about flowers and how I approach floral design. Truth be told, I have been wanting to teach a workshop for over a year, but the idea was always put on the back burner. Amber with Something Borrowed approached me about teaching a workshop in their new space Studio 1904, and I knew this was the perfect opportunity.
With all the beautiful photos floating around instagram, Pinterest, and social media, I totally get how intimidating and daunting floral design can be. As a designer who is 100% self taught, and someone who entered into the wedding industry perhaps a little naively, I have felt a need to always be willing share what I know and encourage other designers to do what they love.
To my delight, the attendees were super interactive during my demo; asking questions and sharing experiences. I LOVED being able to share what I have learned over the past five years. Owning and running a floral design business (or any business) is HARD. It’s even harder if you feel like you are all alone with no where to turn.
All that being said, I am excited to start offering more workshops including private group workshops (birthday parties, bridal showers, or just a fun excuse to get your friends together) and 1:1 workshops/mentoring for those starting out in the business or even those who have been in it for awhile, but may be looking to rebrand or attract more of their ideal client. I will also be offering more public workshops throughout the year.

Lastly, thank you to my dear friend Jake of Sweetlife Photography for these amazing images!
