Shyla + Aaron | Winter Yale Union Wedding
Last December, I had the privilege of designing for Shyla + Aaron’s beautiful winter wedding at Yale Union in inner SE Portland. The week of the wedding it had snowed in Portland and there were still some remains on the ground giving a little context to the brisk winter day it really was!
The couple chose a color palette of burgundy/marsala with pops of lighter hues such as ivory, blush, and champagne. I love this palette all throughout the year, but it really created a beautiful, cozy atmosphere for this winter wedding.
Shyla’s bouquet featured burgundy amaryllis, white Ohara garden roses, quicksand roses, dusty miller, silver dollar eucalyptus, and bay leaf.
For the ceremony we created a beautiful hanging installation for the couple to stand in front of and placed garlands and pillar candles down the aisle for a beautiful glow.
The reception space had beautiful, dark farm tables from Classic Vintage Rentals with lush greenery garlands where we tucked in floral and scattered lots of candle light down the spine of the tables. The vibe in the room was definitely romantic!
Thank you Shyla + Aaron for allowing us a create for your big day and happy (almost) 1 year anniversary!
