Terra Cotta Vibes | Brasada Ranch Wedding Editorial

The beauty of Central Oregon is undeniable. I have come to this area all my life and it holds some of my most cherished memories. As an Oregon Event + Floral Designer, I often times find inspiration in nature. While vacationing here this past fall, the colors and texture of the landscape inspired me. The red toned bark of the trees, the dusty ground, and sagebrush all sparked inspiration for an editorial shoot.

I chose Brasada Ranch as the venue for the shoot because of the beautiful views of the Cascade Mountain Range, roaming horses, big sky, and quintessential Central Oregon landscape.

The ranch boasts several areas for both ceremony and reception both indoors and outdoors. I love the area near the bridge and pond.

Because the landscape is so beautifully neutral, I wanted to add depth by using more saturated colors such as peach, copper, berry, and navy. This color palette was perfect for an early fall wedding. One of my favorite textures was the snowberry branches that were turning color. The use of persimmon and fig are another favorite element that showcase the season.

The silk and willow runner, stoneware dishes, and terra cotta vessels added beautiful warmth and texture to the table scape.

As a nod to the rustic nature of the venue, the table and chairs and all other elements of the shoot were more simplistic, yet refined.

Eden Jade Turns 1! | Featured on Style Me Pretty Living

Full disclosure (and if you’ve been following me for awhile, you already know) this is a very belated post!

My sweet mini turned one last June. It was probably one of the most surreal days of my life. I could not believe my baby was one year old and that I had been a parent for a full 365 days!  Nearly, since the day she was born, I knew I wanted to throw a big birthday bash for her. I’m so glad I followed through. It was wonderful to surrounded by the tribe of people who love our little girl and helped us through our first year of parenthood.

For her party, I decided to stick with a fun palette of pinks, peaches and corals, and of course include lots beautiful florals. The City Hippy Studio created the invitation based around the monthly photos I took of Eden. Each month I would create the number out of flowers and lay her next to it (you can see each monthly photo here). I loved how the invitation and all the other signage for the party turned out.

Puj baby was gracious enough to use their retail space as our venue. The concrete floors and white walls created a perfect backdrop to the bright colors.

Something Borrowed provided the beautiful furniture for the lounge area. Pink chairs, cream sofa, and fun throw pillows created a cozy area for guests to hang out.

Since the party was late morning, we decided to have brunch! Fresh fruit, cheese, crackers, yogurt bar, mimosa’s and bloody mary’s were all DIY by my family. Little Red’s Bakeshop provided yummy pastries, the smash cake, and the sugar cookies that we gave out as favors. Dessert for the guests were Coco Donuts.

The floral arrangements had a mix of some of my favorite blooms: Peonies, dahlias, garden roses, and cosmos to name a few.

I loved this “stats sign” Jena from The City Hippy Studio made. It makes the perfect keepsake!

Obviously, extremely biased, but she’s just the BEST!

It had been a warm spring, so at the end of June Portland had both locally grown peonies and dahlias! What?!?

Loves of my life.

Libations provided by auntie Amy!

I LOVED this cut out of Eden’s named made by ADX Portland. It now hangs in her nursery.

Cutest and most delicious cookies from Little Red’s Bakeshop!

Galentine’s Day Inspiration

There seems to be a lot of mixed emotions about Valentine’s Day. Some love having an excuse for a special date night, while others feel it’s a made up holiday that draws more attention to their single-ness. Regardless of how you feel about it, I think all the ladies can agree Galentine’s day is the BEST excuse to get together with your gal pals and have a great time!

Whether you are attending a Galentine’s day party or not this year, I think we, as women, can at the very least use this day as a reminder to make an effort to uplift, encourage, support, and empower each other.

Enjoy this fun, cheery inspiration!

Columbia River Gorge Elopement

I may be biased, but Oregon is the most beautiful state in all the land. In the last couple years or so, I have noticed more and more of my clients choosing to marry or elope in Portland, Oregon and surrounding areas.

The Columbia River Gorge is a gorgeous area of the state boasting beautiful views, lush green landscape, and many waterfalls. This area has become a popular place for adventurous couples to marry.

The concept for this elopement was moody and romantic. Kelsey from Vanity Affair, requested a BIG bridal bouquet and I was happy to oblige! I chose a color palette of burgundy, plum, and navy, accented with some ivory tones to add some depth. I also loved how the oak leaves and eucalyptus created some seasonal context.

Enjoy these beautiful images from Photography by Paulina.
