Hood River Wedding Florist

Caitlin + Sean | Mt. Hood Organic Farms Weddingportlandweddingfloristmthoodorganicfarmswedding2

What a pleasure it was to be a part of Caitlin + Sean’s wedding day. These two got married at a gorgeous venue near Hood River, Oregon, Mt. Hood Organic Farms. This place is stunning! The property itself is over 200 acres, and boasts beautiful gardens, ponds, trails, and of course orchards. To top it off, the view of Mt. Hood is off the charts phenomenal.

Caitlin definitely has a little boho spirit about her. From her floral crown, to her bouquet, she wanted her florals to have a natural, garden-esque feel to them. I loved her color palette of peach, white, and blush.

Congratulations Caitlin and Sean! Thank you for choosing Swoon at your wedding florist!

Giving Thanks | Autumn Wedding Inspiration

Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His love endures forever! Psalm 107:2

portlandweddingfloristoregoneventdesign3The holiday season always seems to sneak up on me. One day the leaves are just beginning to change. The next, we are half way through November, and Thanksgiving is right around the corner!

Thanksgiving is so meaningful to me. Taking the time to reflect, to be surrounded by loved ones is a slice of heaven for me. As a small business owner, I don’t take for granted that everyday I get to do something I absolutely love. Not only that, but this business also allows me to be a stay-at-home-mom to my daughter. So, to all my past and current brides and clients: THANK YOU!!! from the bottom of my heart. Supporting my small business helps me provide for my family, spend time with my daughter, and allows my work and my passion to be one in the same.

And to my family, friends, and peers; there are not enough words to express my gratitude for your continual support, love and encouragement. It’s this tribe that keeps me going day in and day out.

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and that you take time to be with loved ones, to reflect, pray, to give thanks.

Also, thank you Style Me Pretty for featuring this lovely, fall inspired editorial. Portland Wedding Florist

Columbia Gorge Elopement | Government Cove

One of my favorite parts about being a wedding florist is collaborating with other creatives in the industry and running with inspiration and ideas we have floating around in our heads.

When I was approached by a group of Portland wedding photographers about being part of an elopement shoot in the Columbia River Gorge, I knew this was something I wanted to collaborate on.  The gorge is one of my favorite parts of Oregon. I love that it is only a short drive outside of Portland. Government Cove is a beautiful area off the beaten path, with breath taking views of the Columbia River.

I loved the Pacific Northwest feel to this shoot. Warm and inviting, with touches of natural elements.

Thank you to a wonderful team of vendors who put so much time, effort and talent into this elopement. Also, check out the feature on Grey Likes Weddings!

Bend Wedding Florist

I was honored to be hired as the wedding florist for this amazing Bend event. Megan and Dan were married on a beautiful, late summer day at Black Butte Ranch. The couple vacationed here together while dating, and decided it was the perfect place for them to tie the knot. What better backdrop for your vows than the majestic Cascade Mountain range?

The couple wanted an elegant feel to their wedding, with some rustic elements as a nod to the ranch atmosphere. We used our reclaimed wood arbor for the ceremony and wooden boxes for the centerpieces. Megan is also a nutritionist so we incorporated kale and apples into the bouquets and arrangements. Even the tables “numbers” were names of different apple varieties! Brightly colored garden roses, dahlias, and ranunculus added pops of color to the beautiful draped tent and looked lovely against the blush bridesmaid dresses.bend-oregon-wedding-florist-7bend-oregon-wedding-florist-8 I absolutely love incorporating floral elements into other parts of the wedding day. Megan requested garden roses in various shades of coral to decorate her tiered wedding cake. bend-wedding-florist-2bend-wedding-florist-3Love how all of these bridesmaids look with their neutral dresses and colorful bouquets.  Your bouquet is a great opportunity to add personality and color to your wedding day. bend-wedding-florist-4bend-wedding-florist-5We loved creating this wood arbor out of reclaimed wood.  It was a beautiful backdrop and could be used in the couples home.  portland-wedding-florist

15 Favorite Bouquets of 2015

It’s hard to believe in less than 24 hours 2015 will be completely behind us. This year has been one for the books both personally and professionally.

Personally, the best moment of 2015 was welcoming our daughter (and future assistant), Eden, into the world in June. My life is forever changed. Being a mom is making me a better person and is changing me for the better.  I am grateful that I have the opportunity to be a SAHM while simultaneously following my passion of being a floral designer.

Professionally, this year has been fun, challenging and rewarding. I am so grateful for all my clients and peers that I have had the chance to work with. So much magic was created; so many beautiful events came to fruition. The amount of creativity in this industry constantly blows me away, and I’m thankful to be a small part of it.

2016 is going to bring some exciting changes to Swoon, and I can’t wait to share more down the road!

Enjoy my 15 favorite bouquets of 2015 (in no particular order). Happy New Year!
